Over the last month several positive events have occurred that have allowed us to reconsider our mask requirements. We have been very blessed that our last confirmed case on campus was reported on March 30th. Additionally, we coordinated efforts with Puckett Family Clinic in Honey Grove so that all of our staff had access to the vaccine beginning March 9th. Finally, this past week, Childcare Licensing did not renew the Emergency Minimum Standards requiring two and up to wear a mask.
Beginning Monday, May 3rd, masks will be optional at MSA. Please know that the safety of our students and staff are our first and foremost priority. We will continue to observe social distancing, handwashing, and other mitigating factors to prevent the spread of COVID -19. If it is your desire for your child to continue wearing a mask throughout the school day, please inform your child’s teacher so that they can enforce your preference.
We know that this has been a difficult year, with many ups and downs. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we have navigated changing requirements from many regulatory agencies and balanced many individual feelings and opinions. As always, we will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments should the need arise. We appreciate your continued support.
